Bio-F Fluoride Removal Systems
HES Water Engineers (India) Pvt. Ltd. have developed an innovative Fluoride removal system that helps solve many problems with other existing technologies. This is one of the reasons for its outstanding success since its first installation more than a decade ago. To date, we have installed thousands of Bio-F Fluoride Removal Plants across 9 states in India. Since Fluoride is present in groundwater, the excess of it in drinking water can cause severe health issues. According to the World Health Organization Standards, the permissible limit of fluoride in drinking water is 1.5 ppm and anything above this can cause several diseases. Some of the diseases caused by excessive fluoride in drinking water include dental Fluorosis, cancer, and genetic damages. Also, from the amount of fluoride you ingest, only 50% is eliminated while the rest is absorbed by the bones and teeth. But, if the fluoride intake is excessive, it can get accumulated in the body, and over time, can cause severe physical problems such as arthritic pain, spine rigidity, malshaping of bones, etc.OxiMax Bio-F Fluoride Removal System
The OxiMax Bio-F Fluoride removal system is highly effective and the fluoride removal efficiency from the drinking water is >97%.
Bio-F has been specially designed to remove fluoride from the water. The process includes the fluoride ions binding themselves to the media and the media releasing the OH-ions. While regenerating with NaOH, these OH-ions replace the Fluoride ions on the media surface. Our media has a fluoride removal capacity between 1 mg/g to 4 mg/g, depending upon inlet water characteristics and other parameters. The capacity is steady under other ionic competition and the regeneration process is simple and can be done at the site itself.
You can use the same media for systems of various sizes, from a small hand pump attached system to a system for a bigger community right up to much larger systems for piped water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission Projects affected by Water Quality.
We usually design our systems to be regenerated every 30 days and the media lasts for about 18-24 months on average. This, however, can vary depending upon the actual site conditions, i.e. primarily the contaminated raw water chemistry and the volume of water actually treated v/s the design.
Bio-F Fluoride Regeneration Method
Re-generation is very easy and can be done at the site using NaOH. The tentative design re-generation period is once in about 30 days, but the design can vary depending upon the requirement of the customer. It may also vary depending upon other factors in input water and the amount of water usage in reference to the design.
OxiMax Bio-F removal systems are easy to operate & maintain and provide high fluoride removal efficiency. They have a high and steady adsorption rate and stable regeneration capability. They are also tested and certified by various leading institutes and laboratories across the country.
