CSIR-CMERI OxiMax Improved Iron Removal Plant

Commonly found in groundwater, a high concentration of iron in water can cause health hazards and lead to the short shelf-life of household appliances due to the build-up of iron deposits and rust. If used for laundry, it can cause stains on clothes. Additionally, excess iron in water can change the taste of food & beverages and lead to other issues such as blockage of pipe, leakage, amongst others.

Since 2005, HES Water Engineers (India) has been at the forefront of introducing effective, sustainable, and economical technologies to treat potable water. In collaboration with different technology partners, HES Water Engineers has supplied and installed 10,000+ plants for the improvement of water quality and removal of contamination across India.

Thus, with a similar vision to provide iron-free potable water, HES Water Engineers India Pvt Ltd. has joined hands with CSIR-CMERI to offer effective and innovative iron removal systems that are also sustainable.

CSIR-CMERI OxiMax Improved Iron Removal Plant

Using the advanced technology designed by CSIR-CMERI [Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute], individuals and organisations can seamlessly remove iron from drinking water, bringing the same below the permissible limit of 0.3 ppm.

The current Improved Iron Removal Plant includes a force and lift type arrangement fitted to an existing India Mark-II hand pump and/or a submersible pump. This arrangement further comprises several scientifically arranged aeration mechanisms around the aeration chamber, pre-settling chamber, settling chamber and an outlet tap to safely collect iron-free drinking water.
